The Power Conversion Technology Laboratory within the Huawei’s Nuremberg Research Center is responsible for Advanced Digital Power Technology Research, Architecture Evolution Design and Strategic Technology Planning, and plays an important role in the Huawei Digital Power business in the design and development of power converters and control systems for applications such as PV Solar & Battery Energy Storage Field, Data Centers, Electric Vehicle, and Embedded Power Supply.

Now we are looking for a:

Intern Mechanical Engineer for High Speed Motors/Actuators (m/f/d)

Responsibilities:

• Perform multibody simulations and develop the CAD drawings
• Design, simulate, and manufacture high speed actuators or motors
• Discuss with suppliers and manage the fabrication process of the parts needed to assemble motors/actuators
• Identify necessary standards and perform the tests needed to qualify the prototype and bring the idea to the market
• Write technical reports, patents and publications

Requirements

• Master or PhD student in mechanical Engineering or other related fields
• Solid basic knowledge of mechanics
• Experience in design and testing of motors/actuators. Previous experience in axial flux motors is a strong plus.
• Experience in quick prototyping and testing
• Experience with advanced measurement devices to measure the acceleration of high-speed actuators as well in test building test set-ups to test different actuator concepts
• Experience in research, development and application of key technologies and devices in this field
• A positive team spirit, a strong aptitude for learning, and effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal
