Role Summary:

Quality Engineers are responsible for defining, writing, and executing test flows. QA is responsible for helping keep bugs out of the customer- facing services and other Globality production systems. This role is specifically for working with the development team, which necessitates a broad understanding of not only sound testing principles, but the ability to think outside the box when dealing with testing external/internal dependencies.

We believe great QA Engineers are versatile generalists that apply sound engineering principles who are defined more by their actions and judgment than specific technologies that they know.

What you will be doing:

• Be part of the team responsible for delivering clean code to an enterprise-grade AI- driven data and messaging platform
• Protect the health of the Production environment through designing and maintaining comprehensive test planning
• Leverage automation test framework for creating test cases and scenarios for our backend services
• Leverage Cypress.io for UI testing
• Work with the team building API integrations and webhooks
• Analyze automated test results and identify irregular/anomalous behaviors
• Work with Customer Success, Tech Support, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams to document and recreate discovered issues and verify bug fixes
• Work with the Test Operations and SRE teams to ensure that code is of such a high integrity that the code deployment process as boring as possible
• Understand advanced testing methods (such as Scale, Soak, and Chaos Testing) to be able to work with the Test Operations team on deepening our understanding of our platform

You may be a fit for this role if you:

• Have familiarity with modern software test automation framework
• Have professional programming experience – we’re thinking at least 5+ years
• Have experience with web technologies, such as JavaScript, HTML, CSS, gRPC, and RESTful APIs
• Think deeply about edge cases, points of failure, failure modes, and systemic behaviors
• Treat team success as personal success
• Are eager to share your knowledge with teammates through mentorship, code reviews, and pair programming sessions
• Embrace collaboration and are comfortable with communicating asynchronously with a globally distributed team
• Are driven to document, document, document so you don't need to learn (or teach) the same thing twice
• Have an enthusiastic, driven, go-for-it attitude. Are compelled to fix broken things and improve less-than-ideal things
• Some experience with load, performance, penetration, or security testing
• Experience using Cypress.io or Jmeter
• Have experience working with product stacks which leverage the advanced tools of AWS, GCP, or other cloud providers (not just datacenter-in-the-cloud)

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with debugging Python and/or Java application stacks
• Experience with metrics & observability systems like Prometheus or Dynatrace
• Believe everything should be "as code"
