Electrical Engineer - Renewable Construction

What you’ll be doing

We are on the lookout for a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Engineer, to be part of the newly formed Renewable Construction Team within the Development Business Unit.

This team is responsible for building new assets to meet Meridian’s strategic goal of playing our part in decarbonising NZ. The team is responsible for detailed design, contract tendering, negotiations and award of key contracts, site construction works, commissioning, and handover to Generation.

This role will be critical to the success of every project and provides support to the Electrical Engineering Manager to resolve matters on behalf of the team.

Other accountabilities include supporting electrical design through external consultants to meet Meridian and project requirements, assisting with selection of electrical contractor(s) through tendering processes, and be part of key integration with Wholesale and Generation team members for specification development, operability, connection agreements and meeting grid codes.
