About Accessia

Are you looking to join a technology company that’s at an exciting stage of growth with huge ambition and vision, as well as the backing to make it happen? Accessia is the workplace experience, analytics, and access control cloud platform that makes the office more meaningful for the people that use it, creates more secure workplaces, and gives organisations the advanced analytics and reporting they need to understand and optimise their spaces.

Accessia was founded in 2021 by a team comprising product leads, engineering leads, and investors, who have worked together for over fifteen years. Our previous company sold for $700 million, and others have sold for $387 million and $270 million. Today, we’re 35 employees with a mix of marketing, design, finance, hardware engineering, software engineering, and product.

What we can offer you

  • The opportunity to play a crucial role in defining the user experience throughout the product, spanning mobile apps to web to physical hardware
  • A strong culture of design thinking where decisions stem from asking ‘are we solving our target customers’ problems? ' and ‘does this idea address the user story?’
  • Good ideas from all over the company. Outside of regular workshops, we see daily collaboration between design, engineering and product
  • Regular socials doing everything from axe-throwing to dinners out

Join us at this exciting stage and be a part of a company disrupting a traditional industry through our unparalleled combination of product, story, vision, and execution

What we’re looking for

  • Experience in delivering a product to market with 2-3 years as a UX /Product Designer

  • A genuine curiosity for how things work and how people interact with products

  • A natural ability to see where products fall short and how to improve them

  • A talent for discovering and understanding the problems which users face and building products that enable them to work effectively and efficiently

  • The motivation to understand the bigger picture of how the work you’re doing provides commercial and customer impact

  • The ability to translate requirements into proposed flows and wireframes that can be understood by, and debated with, the product, engineering, and leadership teams

  • An ability to effectively and rapidly build, test, and iterate prototypes of potential solutions

  • A good understanding of design patterns for mobile and web platforms

  • Strong communication and organisational skills to be able to convey final designs and UX-specific implementation details to engineering

  • 2-3 years of experience with a hunger to grow, learn, build, and thrive at a startup

  • A strong portfolio of successful projects

Benefits

  • Competitive salary
  • Share options
  • 25 days’ holiday
  • Long-term income protection insurance
  • Life assurance
  • Private medical insurance
  • Pension scheme
  • Investment in training, growth, and development
  • Your choice of laptop and monitor
  • Sponsorship of skilled worker visas

Location

We have a gorgeous new office in the heart of London (Temple) – less than a 10-minute walk to Covent Garden, and a 5-minute walk to the Thames for lunchtime strolls

The office is our primary location for collaboration amongst our engineering, design, and product teams, but if you want to work from Scotland for a week, spend time at home to focus, or work odd hours for something going on in your life, that's not a problem. We believe in hybrid working for both the benefits of meeting in person regularly and the flexibility to be elsewhere when you don't want or need to be in the office.

How to apply

Send us your CV, portfolio, and an optional cover letter (if you feel your CV doesn't tell the whole story). If your CV and portfolio shows a talent for UX design, we’ll then invite you to a video call. In this you will present your portfolio, demonstrating how your skills as a designer have allowed you to understand the problems users face and how you created a solution which solves their problems.

If that goes well, we’ll invite you to a second round, in person, including a design session and interviews with leaders in the product, design and engineering teams, as well as the chance to see the team in their natural environment and to chat with our CEO over lunch.

Over the course of the day, you'll have the chance to show how you approach a problem, including how you work with product management and engineering, and we'll have the chance to show you how Accessia will give you the opportunity to produce amazing work. By the end of the interview, we hope that you can be as confident that you want to work for us as we'll be that we’d like to hire you.
