About ZAPI GROUP:

As a full-solution supplier, the ZAPI GROUP can support every component OEMs need to design effective electric vehicles that meet cost goals and comply with tightening environmental standards. The contract may be extended based on operational and business needs.

Position Summary:

This is a temporary, full time position responsible for 3D CAD modelling and drafting of mechanical drawings of battery charging systems including charger assemblies, cables, harnesses, labels, packaging, and other related components mainly related to sustaining projects.

Specific Duties:

• Create detailed models and drawings of mechanical enclosures, subcomponents and wiring harnesses.
• Use SolidWorks to prepare 3D models and component drawings while adhering to precedent and recognized methods.
• Collaborate with designers, engineers, and other departments in all areas where function/performance interacts, or assembly is concerned.
• Apply GD&T to drawings as instructed to ensure component quality standards are met.
• Other duties as required.

Requirements

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent with at least 3 years of relevant work experience.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks CAD techniques, drawings, and PDM.
• Familiarity with GD&T drawing practices.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Very good interpersonal skills with the ability to function in a team environment.
• Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
• Good problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

Additional Beneficial Experience:

• Familiarity with Illustrator for creating labels and basic artwork.
• Knowledge of enclosures used in the electronics industry.
• Knowledge of creating CAD drawings of connectors, receptacles, cables assemblies, and harnesses.
• Knowledge of die-casting, metal forming and injection molding processes.

Benefits

Base Salary: $62,000 - $75,000 CAD per year plus bonus.

The compensation offered will be determined by experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skills.
