Global Atlantic Regulatory & Government Affairs is a dynamic group that manages one of the most critical elements of the annuity and insurance industry—regulation. RGA engages state, federal, and international stakeholders which impact every level of our business to advance the business interests of Global Atlantic. As a thought leader in the insurance and annuities industry, RGA also collaborates with industry trade groups and our peers in the space to shape the narrative about our business and empower others to do the same for the advancement of the industry.
The Associate will support the Regulatory & Government Affairs (“RGA”) function. This individual will report to the Managing Director, Head of Regulatory & Government Affairs and work closely with the VP of Regulatory Actuarial Policy and with other members of the Legal, Compliance, Regulatory, and Internal Audit (“LCRIA”) teams.

This role offers the opportunity to produce deliverables for senior executives within GA and senior members of our parent company, KKR.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead in tracking, understanding and summarizing proposed legislation and regulations impacting the insurance industry generally and Global Atlantic specifically
  • Lead deck development, drafting briefs, crafting talking points, conducting research and synthesizing complex information for senior executives
  • Drafting RGA publications including, but not limited to the RGA Biweekly Dispatch and Quarterly Beltway Bulletin
  • Attend and internally publish minutes from trade association meetings, law firm educational sessions, calls with regulatory consultants and the GA’s bipartisan lobbying firm
  • Other activities as assigned

Qualifications & Necessary Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree
    • A bachelor’s degree in public policy, international relations, finance or a related field a plus
  • Highly skilled with respect to Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
    • PowerPoint skills are imperative to success in this role!
  • Team player and proactive individual contributor
    • This role requires adept project management. Being proactive is a key requirement
  • Advanced workstream management skills including issue tracking and timely delivery of multiple projects at the same time
  • Advanced communication skills, both written and verbal, including public speaking, presentation drafting and delivery, and meeting leadership
  • Travel is required approximately 3-5 times per year
  • Detail-orientated with strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information and use business judgment
  • Ability to work in a high energy environment and independently design and complete projects as well as collaborate with and support senior management
  • Flexibility and responsiveness to shifting business imperatives
