Director, Sustaining Engineering

Job Summary

Independently develop objectives, plans, and global strategies to ensure effective achievement of business goals and objectives. Responsible for the development of solutions to problems of highly unusual complexity and broad company implications.

Job Responsibilities

• Leads and manages the functional group’s development, and effectiveness, aligning to the organizational policies and processes to support the overall business goals and objectives.

• Participates in the short and long-term planning process to set technical objectives for business unit project or functional engineering group.

• Monitor product issues, analyze root cause, propose and implement corrective and preventive actions.

• Applies technical, managerial expertise and creativity to evaluate proposed solutions, adaptations, and modifications to projects and products used globally.

• Identifies product opportunities, and improvements and initiates prioritization in addition to implementation.

• Manages the annual department budget and is accountable for long range planning.

• Ensure processes and product comply with industry standards and regulations.

• Ensures compliance with the company's Quality Management System and safe working practices.

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. A master's degree in engineering is preferred.

• Minimum 10 years of progressive experience, 5 of which have been in a managerial capacity.

• Proven experience in sustaining engineering, product support, or related role.

• Experience in program and project management methods.

• Work experience in an energy related industry, a strong advantage.

• Ability to lead a multi-discipline engineering and scientific team working on multiple projects.

• Advanced understanding and application of Design controls, Quality Management System to product development.

• Broad theoretical knowledge of manufacturing business particularly for energy related product, quality management systems, and EHS.

• Strong People management and strategic planning skills. Experience in multi-cultural structure, a strong advantage.

• Exceptional expertise in planning, budgeting, associate development, and project management directed towards achieving the short and long-term strategic business plans and goals.

• Exceptional understanding of technology and methods applicable to kinetic energy storage and the ability to determine appropriate applications.

• Proficient in using engineering software applications and technologies.

• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing

• Team player, strong interpersonal skills and can collaborate across departments.

• Detail-oriented, strong sense of accountability.

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
