Stress Engineer

What will you be doing?

As a Stress Engineer, you will join our team in Portsmouth to support our activities within the Space sector.

Your main responsibilities will be:

• Perform detailed stress analysis using finite element analysis (FEA) software and other engineering tools.
• Evaluate mechanical components and systems for strength, stiffness, and fatigue resistance.
• Identify potential failure modes and develop mitigation strategies.
• Develop and implement testing procedures to validate analysis results.

Who are we looking for?

• Previous experience in mechanical stress analysis, preferably in the Space, Aerospace or Defence industries.
• Proficiency in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software such as ANSYS, Nastran, or Hyperworks suite.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of structural mechanics, materials science, and fatigue analysis.

Requirements

Experience, skills and qualifications required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Ability to achieve Security Clearance.

Security Clearance:

Candidates must have lived in the UK for at least 5 years with no gaps of 3+ consecutive months to be eligible for security clearance.
