ROLE: SENIOR DESIGNER - SHOPPER

TEAM: SHOPPER/OMNI

LOCATION: TORONTO (HYBRID)

THE OPPORTUNITY

As a Senior Designer, you’re helping turn campaign ideas into polished campaigns that stand out in-store as well as online. Our team focuses on shopper/omni projects for some of Canada’s largest CPG companies where shopper best practices, path to purchase and consumer journey knowledge is a must. You will work alongside a team of very talented Designers, Art Directors and Creatives to help bring omni campaigns to life in a strategic and visual way. You must be passionate about design and sweat the fine details while also having a passion for thinking strategically and creatively. You work well with a range of creatives and know how to contribute to a variety of ways, from ideating alongside the creative team to helping prepare campaign assets for large scale Omni marketing programs. You will be expected to lead your own mid-scale brand projects, support on large scale omni campaigns and sometimes execute tactical projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • DESIGN: You have a terrific design eye and competency with a strong understanding of big brand requirements and calibre of work.You’re able to lead your own projects while also working collaboratively with a team.
  • IDEATION: You can participate in brainstorming sessions with positive energy and bring your unique visual perspective.
  • AGILITY: Managing multiple priorities and assignments in a fast-paced, active environment.
  • QUALITY CONTROL: Delivering high-quality work, on-time and with accuracy, with an eye for detail and an ability to sweat the small stuff.
  • VERBAL COMMUNICATION AND PRESENTATION SKILLS: You will be required to present concepts and projects to the greater Salt team and clients. Storytelling and presentation skills are a must.
  • POS & SHOPPER KNOWLEDGE: You understand the requirements and specs to quickly create in-store assets and POS layouts that follow platform best practices.
  • PRODUCTION DESIGN: You can produce print-ready POS production files and digital assets efficiently while having a keen eye for detail.Experience working with production POS die line files is a plus.

EXPERIENCE

  • 5 + years of experience as a graphic designer with a strong competency in designing for shopper/omni marketing.
  • College or University diploma in Graphic or Communication Design is preferred.
  • Great design chops and a killer portfolio with a range in work styles.
  • Range in design work across shopper marketing, omni campaigns, branding, digital, etc.
  • The ability to execute concepts at a level that is among the top tier in the industry.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – both written and verbal.
  • A collaborative approach to working within the team.
  • Has a strong sense of personal responsibility and design acumen.
  • Exposure to Art Direction, Photo Shoots, and UI/UX are an advantage.
  • Proficient using Mac OS, Adobe Creative Cloud (Expert knowledge of Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign), SharePoint, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (or Keynote).
