Senior Accountant

Venture Global LNG (“Venture Global”) is a long-term, low-cost provider of American-produced liquefied natural gas. The company’s Louisiana-based export projects service the global demand for North American natural gas and support the long-term development of clean and reliable North American energy supplies. Using reliable, proven technology in an innovative plant design configuration, Venture Global’s modular, mid-scale plant design will replace traditional designs as it allows for the same efficiency and operational reliability at significantly lower capital cost.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant, Intercompany Accounting to join our accounting team. This position will support our intercompany accounting processes and report to our Director, Corporate Accounting. This position is located in Arlington, VA.

Responsibilities:

• Support the intercompany accounting process, including billing, settlements, and reconciliations across a large group of related entities.
• Record intercompany sales and other transactions appropriately and in accordance with intercompany agreements.
• Record elimination journal entries.
• Prepare elimination proofs at multiple levels of consolidation working closely with financial reporting team.
• Complete intercompany billing and settlement process, including implementing new intercompany agreements in the system.
• Work closely with the shared service billing team to ensure intercompany invoices are issued timely and accurately, and the Treasury team to cash settle intercompany balances on a regular basis.
• Perform monthly reconciliations of intercompany balances, identifying discrepancies and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve any issues on a timely basis.
• Execute assigned tasks for the monthly accounting close and financial statement preparation processes, including variance analysis of all intercompany activity for monthly close meetings.
• Identify and implement process improvements to streamline intercompany operations and enhance accuracy and efficiency.
• Respond to auditor requests that arise during the quarterly reviews and year-end audits.
• Partner with the Internal Controls function to establish and maintain system of internal controls.
• Stay updated on accounting standards, industry regulations, and system enhancements to optimize intercompany processes.
• Other duties as required and assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• CPA is a plus
• 3 - 4 years of related experience in an audit or other intercompany accounting related role (mix of industry and Big 4 experience is a plus)
• Knowledge of multi-ledger including intercompany accounting across a group of affiliate entities
• General understanding of GAAP
• General understanding of internal controls
• Strong planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize work; strong sense of urgency
• Superior attention to detail and ability to problem solve, work independently, and consistently meet deadlines
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills
• Strong communication and skills (written and oral)
• Excellent proficiency in Excel
• Experience with SAP S4HANA (accounting system) is a plus
