The Department of Women's Health at the Dell Medical School is looking for a Research Engineering/Scientist Associate I.

Research studies will take place on the L&D unit at Ascension Seton Medical Center, in the Women’s Health Clinics in Medical Park Tower, at the UTHA clinics, the Health Discovery Building (HDB)/Health Transformation Building (HTB) and the Community Care Clinic (CUC) sites.

Purpose

The Research Engineering/Scientist Associate I will assist with the coordination and implementation of research studies conducted in the Department of Women’s Health at Dell Medical School in The University of Texas at Austin. The incumbent will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day administration and coordination of research projects.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with participant screening, recruitment, consent, enrollment, and retention activities.
  • Assists with the scheduling, coordinating and conduct of study visits.
  • Assists with the collection of data and administration of study measures and procedures.
  • Assists with the upkeep of study databases and tracking logs, such as REDCap, Smartsheet, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Serves as point of contact for participants and helps to troubleshoot issues related to participation as they arise.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and some research experience. Team-oriented with the ability to work independently. Able to collaborate/communicate in broad environment. Manage day-to-day activities. Excellent multi-tasker. Professional demeanor with tact and respect at all times. Ability to address individuals and information with a high degree of sensitivity and confidentiality in various delicate, formal or urgent situations. Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication. Outstanding organizational and time-management skills.

Demonstrated critical thinking skills and excellent attention to details. Demonstrated ability to work well with a broad group of faculty, staff and students. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Fluent in Spanish. Experience working in UT Austin system. Experience working with mother/baby population. Experience working in Ascension Seton system.

Experience working in clinical research. Experience working in clinics/hospitals.

Salary Range

$40,000+ depending on qualifications

Working Conditions
