What We’re Looking For:

As a GL Accountant & Payroll Support person at EarnIn, you will be responsible for supporting various aspects of payroll accounting and General Ledger operations. This may include processing payroll, reconciling payroll-related accounts, and ensuring compliance with international, federal, state, and local payroll regulations. This position will also be responsible for supporting the General Ledger operations function including, but not limited to, performing month and year end close processes and reconciling balance sheet and income statement accounts. The ideal candidate will have some payroll background, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

This position will be based in Mexico City, Mexico. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level and location.

Position Summary

General Ledger Accounting:

• Assist in the month and year end close, preparing journal entries and reconciling the general ledger ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
• Analyze financial data and provide explanations for variances
• Prepare monthly reconciliations of assigned GL accounts.
• Develop ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and external regulations.
• Assist with audits and provide documentation as required by external auditors.
• Support the preparation of tax filings, including payroll taxes, sales taxes, and other regulatory reporting requirements.
• Support team on ad-hoc tasks.

Payroll Support:

• Assist with the preparation and processing of domestic and international payroll, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
• Maintain payroll records, including timesheets, and employee deductions.
• Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll, deductions, and timesheets.
• Reconcile payroll-related accounts and prepare necessary journal entries.
• Collaborate with HR to ensure accurate employee data in the payroll system.
• Identify opportunities to enhance payroll and accounting processes. Implement best practices to improve efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
