Staff Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Staff Accountant with US GAAP to join our finance team. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for supporting the accounting department with day-to-day financial transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting in the preparation of financial reports. • Revenue Recognition :
• Responsible for uploading of revenue data from the Practice locations to our ERP system (Sage Intacct)
• Ensure accurate and timely recording of revenue in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company policies.
• Review and analyze contracts (ex. Wellness) for proper revenue recognition treatment.
• Assist in the preparation and analysis of weekly, monthly, and annual evenue reports.
• Month-End Close:
• Participate in the month-end close process, including preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, workpaper creation, and variance analysis.
• Ensure all revenue-related accounts are reconciled and discrepancies are resolved promptly
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts, identify and correct errors and prepare reconciliation for management review on a monthly basis.
• Compliance and Auditing:
• Assist in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
• Financial Analysis and Reporting:
• Perform expense analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
• Prepare detailed variance reports and present findings to management.
• Collaboration:
• Work closely with Operations, Finance Shared Services, and Practice
• Support to ensure accurate reporting and resolve issues.
• Provide support to other finance team members as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
• 3+ years of experience in accounting required.
• Knowledge of ASC 606 and revenue recognition principles preferred.
• Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills, Intacct experience is preferred
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Ability to work in a fast paced, start-up environment and thrives on challenges.
