AmeriCorps Youth Positions for High School Students
*Documents needed to enroll: Government Issued Photo ID, Signed Social Security Card, US Birth Certificate or another form of Proof of Citizenship.
Schedule: 14 hours per week
Monday - Friday: May include a few weekend days during the term of service for special service projects or activities promoting civic engagement.
Pretax Living Allowance: $331.20 (450 hours) paid on the 15th and last day of each month of enrollment.
$5,796.00 - Gross Living Allowance for 450 hour position (38 weeks)
$2,817.14 - Education Award for 450 hour position (38 weeks)
Definition of Living Allowance: money distributed to individuals to meet basic living needs. Living allowance is not considered money earned as during employment. Members are not classified as employees. Therefore members are not subject to employee benefits or eligible for unemployment. A living allowance may not affect other benefits such as social security, retirement, or other assistance benefits.
