Full Stack Developer

Eurofins is actively implementing standardised processes across its various laboratories, with a particular focus on its Information Systems (EurIS). Central to this effort is the indispensable regional web-based Customer Relationship Management application known as ADMS.

The primary goal of this position is to become an integral part of the ADMS Development Team based in Dublin, comprising five local members in addition to offshore team members. As a member of this team, you will play a crucial role in driving both technical advancements and functional enhancements.

The ADMS Development Team operates at the forefront of technology, leveraging robust modelling techniques such as Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and Unified Modelling Language (UML), alongside cutting-edge tools and frameworks including C#, .NET, MS SQL Server, and Angular. We follow Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) integration patterns, with expertise in REST and Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) implementations. Adhering to Agile/DevOps methodologies, Quality Assurance is paramount, supported by a rigorous test strategy encompassing Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD), while harnessing the power of Platform as a Service (PaaS) and DevOps technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, Azure DevOps, and Octopus for efficient deployment and management of our solutions.

Work Arrangement and Location: There is a hybrid work arrangement with three days per week in the office (two can be chosen as a team), and two days per week of remote work. Our office is based in the Algés area, in Lisbon.

How Can You Help Us?

Act as an experienced Full-Stack Software Engineer within a Scrum team of seven developers and testers.

Leverage good communication skills, team spirit, and a collaborative mindset.

Contribute to the design, development, testing, build, automated deployment, documentation, and troubleshooting of selected functional and non-functional requirements for target software applications and services.

Ensure a high-quality level of development by writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code following best practices, team coding standards, and guidelines.

Conduct code reviews, participate in pair/mob programming sessions, debug, and troubleshoot issues to ensure software quality, security, and performance.

Implement and integrate a range of APIs, libraries, and services, including those developed internally and externally as needed.

Follow Scrum methodology, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives, embracing its values and other Agile/DevOps practices (eXtreme Programming, CI/CD, BDD).

Demonstrate technical curiosity by staying updated on emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in software development.

Other Assignments:

Regularly update the Team Manager and respond promptly to requests.

Rapidly acquire a working knowledge of Eurofins EurIS systems, starting with ADMS, underlying concepts and models, and the team's processes and practices.

Continuously deepen knowledge guided by the most pressing needs of assigned functions.

Develop effective working relationships with IT and non-IT target groups within Eurofins.

Requirements

Are you our kind of extraordinary?

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least three years’ experience in roles such as Software Developer, Software Engineer, or comparable positions.
• Proficiency in backend development with C# programming language and .NET (Core or Framework).
• Experience with JavaScript / Typescript UI development ideally with an UI framework like Angular, React, or Vue.js.
• Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design principles.
• Familiarity with relational database systems such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.
• Knowledge of version control systems like Git and collaboration tools such as Azure Devops or JIRA.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to learning and self-improvement.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure as code.
• Familiarity with software testing frameworks, automated testing tools, and test first approach such Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD).
• Good Knowledge of Clean Code Principles and Refactoring Experience.
• Experience working in Agile or DevOps environments and using Agile project management tools like Scrum or Kanban.
• Capacity of Conceptual Modelling at relational database and/or domain levels. (UML)
• Experience with Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) frameworks (e.g. Entity Framework)
• First Experience with Angular Framework
• Basic Knowledge of HTML / CSS knowledge.
• Knowledge of any Shell Scripting Language, ideally PowerShell.
