Job Description Summary:

We are seeking a well-rounded Lead Android Software Engineer with 8+ years of experience designing, coding, and rolling out moderately complex native mobile applications. You will join the Regulatory Experience engineering team that enables PayPal to operate globally and protects our business from money laundering activities.

Meet our team:
The PayPal Global Regulatory Experience Team aids the platform in crafting the customer experience (both consumer and merchant) for completing KYC/CIP processes in adherence to regulatory standards.

Job Description:

Your way to impact:

As the key owner, you will be responsible for conceptualizing, productizing, and delivering technical solutions. Collaboration with the programs team and various experts from cross-functional domains is crucial to ensure the creation of an exceptional experience. Your ownership extends to the end-to-end development of the solution.

Your day-to-day:

• Design, code, and maintain native mobile components that directly provide core capabilities for PayPal
• Collaborate with an empowered engineering team to develop extensible technical solutions for complex RegTech problems
• Work with product management to formulate innovative solutions to improve customer success.
• Make quantifiable improvements in engineering processes, quality, and efficiency through automation, proper code abstraction, and monitoring.
• Finding solutions to reduce Time to Market.

What you need to bring to the role:

• 7- 10 years of professional Android application development - Activities, Fragments, ViewModels.
• Good knowledge of MVVM, Repository pattern
• Experience with Android SDK
• Solid understanding of the full mobile development life cycle
• Kotlin, Kotlin Coroutines
• Unit and UI testing Frameworks: JUnit, Espresso, Mockito, Appium
• Strong knowledge of Object Oriented Programming and Design
• Data Structures and Algorithms
• Interest and ability to learn programming languages and frameworks
• Experience in system design and considerations for large-scale deployments
• Working knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies
• Strong skills in writing testable code and high-quality tests
• Inclusive mindset to collaborate effectively in a diverse team
• Experience working in an Agile team, familiarity with Agile best practices, and ability to manage individual task deliverables
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

Nice To Have:

• Experience in developing platform-level features, such as configuration management, service discovery and routing, feature switch, A/B testing, etc.
• Familiarity with Open Source Web Stack Frameworks, Cloud Infrastructure
• Experience with Git, Docker, CI/CD systems
• Experience with Sonar code quality.
• Experience in RegTech or FinTech-related domains
