Principal Member of Technical Staff

Job Description:

Overall Purpose

The Member of Technical Staff discipline is part of a technical career program designed for employees who are working on new and emerging technologies AND who have made a significant commitment to their education by earning at least a 4-year degree in specified STEM areas.

Key Tasks and Deliverables

• Conduct hands-on network validation and certification testing of complex optical network components and systems.
• Execute test plans and provide data-based conclusions and results. Develop, expand, and improve existing test plans.
• Conduct hands-on proof-of-concept testing and design validation/innovation of Layer 1/2/3 network designs.
• Participate in or lead project meetings to report progress, discuss issues and resolutions, and ensure solution requirements are met.

Skills Profile

• Advanced, hands-on lab testing for compliance, performance, and functionality for Broadband, Dark Fiber, and DWDM solutions.
• Minimum 5 years' experience designing, implementing, and troubleshooting complex, mutli-vendor TCP/IP networks. Extensive Layer 1/2/3/4+ network knowledge and experience.
