OCU is seeking an experienced Electrical Site Manager to join our team in Oxford and Ealing. This pivotal role involves overseeing all electrical aspects of construction projects, ensuring safety standards, maintaining timelines, and staying within budget. The ideal candidate will ensure all electrical installations meet UK regulations and standards

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage electrical work on construction sites, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Coordinate with other trades and construction teams to ensure smooth project progression.
  • Prepare, review, and manage project schedules and work plans.

Supervision:

  • Lead and manage a team of electricians, ensuring high-quality workmanship.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and ensure compliance with electrical regulations and safety standards.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to team members.
  • Ensure all electrical work complies with UK regulations (such as BS 7671, IET Wiring Regulations).
  • Implement and enforce health and safety policies on-site.
  • Conduct risk assessments and ensure all workers are aware of safety protocols.
  • Monitor the quality of electrical installations, testing, and commissioning.
  • Address and resolve any technical issues or defects.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and inspectors to ensure all requirements are met.
  • Manage the procurement and delivery of electrical materials and equipment.
  • Monitor and control project costs, avoiding unnecessary expenses.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring timely delivery of services and materials.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including daily logs, progress reports, and timesheets.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports to senior management and clients.
  • Ensure all documentation related to electrical work is up to date and accessible.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients regarding electrical works.
  • Provide updates and address any concerns or queries.
  • Ensure client satisfaction with the electrical aspects of the project.

Skills & Experience

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
  • SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification.
  • ECS/CSCS Card.
  • Proven experience as an Electrical Site Manager or similar role in the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of UK electrical regulations and standards.
  • Experience managing teams and coordinating with other trades on-site.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient in using project management software and MS Office Suite.
