Principal QA Specialist

In this pivotal role, you will define and implement the strategic direction for quality assurance across our organization, ensuring our work excels in quality, reliability, and user experience. You will spearhead the development and execution of QA practices, champion continuous improvement, and mentor our QA team. Responsibilities:

• Strategic Vision: Shape and drive the QA strategy, staying ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies. Mentor senior QA professionals and foster a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
• Test Planning & Strategy: Develop and implement comprehensive QA strategies aligned with project and business goals. Design and execute detailed test plans covering performance, security, usability, and compliance.
• Test Management & Execution: Oversee complex testing initiatives, coordinating across teams and projects. Innovate with advanced testing methodologies and tools, focusing on automation and continuous testing to enhance QA capabilities.
• Communication & Reporting: Ensure effective communication with design, development, and product teams to align on quality goals. Provide insightful reporting on QA activities and metrics, and facilitate cross-functional collaboration.
• Continuous Improvement: Lead efforts to improve testing efficiency and product quality. Establish and monitor QA metrics, adopt innovative tools and techniques, and manage the development framework for the QA team.

The must-have shortlist:

• 6+ years of experience in software testing, including experience in both automated and manual testing. Proven experience in managing QA vendors and coordinating testing efforts across multiple projects.
• Expertise in Selenium and Appium. Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, best practices, and tools.
• Proficiency in test planning, execution, and defect management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with clients, project teams, and vendors.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities to identify and address testing challenges.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Proven experience in shaping a scalable QA methodology/approach.
• Understanding of different levels of accessibility testing and implementation, with the ability to elevate the knowledge across the project team.

Good to haves:

• Automation Testing Experience: Expertise in automation testing frameworks, tools, and scripting languages (such as Cypress) is highly beneficial.
• Performance Testing Knowledge: Familiarity with performance testing tools (like JMeter or LoadRunner) and methodologies enables assessment of system performance and optimization of application performance.
• Security Testing Understanding: A good understanding of security testing concepts, tools, and techniques (such as OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities) is valuable for identifying and addressing potential security risks in applications.
• Domain Knowledge: Deep understanding of highly regulated domains, such as healthcare or financial services, is advantageous.
• Certifications in software testing (e.g., ISTQB) are a plus.
