We are looking for a confident individual who can work within a fast pace setting to ensure sufficient stock levels for operational needs. The individual will be the face of the company when dealing with suppliers and procurement. The successful individual will also manage weekly health and safety checks, COSHH sheets relating to consumables purchased and other Health and Safety matters within the business supported by Group level.

This is a full time time role working Monday to Friday from 09;00 - 17:00.

  • To communicate with suppliers ensuring a high level of customer service building and retaining the relationship.
  • Compare items received against items ordered and ensure incoming stock is receipted and managed appropriately.
  • Carrying out periodic reviews of outgoing orders to ensure accuracy of shipments and respective stock records.
  • Ensure mistakes, inaccuracies and discrepancies with orders are investigated, addressed, and resolved.
  • Replying to emails and TEAMS messages and ensuring the accounts database is kept up to date.
  • Help develop and maintain the companyโ€™s stock management strategy with the aim of reducing losses and obsolete stock and maximizing available space.
  • Monitoring delayed stock to ensure that all orders for all consumables are dealt with according to realistic lead times.
  • Be responsible for managing and running weekly and monthly stock takes.
  • Communicate weekly reports on stock levels, lead times, expected deliveries and any issues to the relevant departments.
  • To work alongside the Business unit manager in understanding the business costing and pricing strategies
  • To ensure that all Health & Safety policies and procedures are complied with and fully maintained.
  • Due diligence with respect to the safety of staff and ensuring that adequate safety training and maintenance of working areaโ€™s are provided in accordance with Health and Safety at Work (COSHH) requirements.
  • Conduct workplace inspections and report findings.
  • Conduct investigations into accidents or incidents.
  • Help creating a culture of continuous improvement which empowers staff to take ownership of their working environment. Help develop and maintain a continuous improvement philosophy within business.
  • Manage projects in line with agreed time, budget and quality constraints, ensuring relevant stakeholders are kept informed of progress e.g. change of supplier, introducing a new stock item or implementing a new H&S policy.

Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent in science (desirable, but not essential).
  • Proven experience working with inventory systems (Kanban desirable but not essential).
  • Understanding of Health & Safety at work with a passion for providing a safe working environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present information face to face, over TEAMs and on email.
  • Strong IT skills
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated and good time management.
  • Full commitment to lean management.
