Buying Trend Forecaster

At The Mint, we're looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Buying Trend Forecaster to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in our product development process. You will be responsible for researching, analyzing, and forecasting the latest trends for both women and girls in fashion, lifestyle, and culture. You will identify current and future trends, and share your insights with our design team in order to help inform our product offerings and ensure they remain on-trend.

Responsibilities

• Identify, analyze, and predict future fashion trends with accuracy and insight
• Stay up-to-date on the fashion industry to understand and anticipate upcoming trends for both women and girls, as well as identify opportunities that can be capitalized upon
• Create a comprehensive, up-to-date monthly trend forecast, ensuring coverage of all relevant aspects such as styles, colors, materials, and details
• Provide high-resolution images for each trend, ensuring they are current and reflective of the latest market trends
• Present insights in a visually appealing and easy-to-understand format with our design team in order to help inform our product offerings and ensure they remain on-trend

You should have a keen eye for detail, excellent research skills, and the ability to think creatively and critically. Strong communication and presentation skills are essential, as well as the ability to work independently and collaborate with the team. You must also be a fast-paced worker and self-starter who can deliver under deadlines.

In addition to passion, excellence and a do-what-it-takes attitude, we have some specific qualifications that we are looking for in our Buying Trend Forecaster:

• Bachelor’s Degree in fashion design, merchandising, or a related field
• 2+ years experience in fashion design, merchandising, or a related field
• Proven experience in trend forecasting, particularly within the fashion industry
• You should have a keen eye for detail, excellent research skills, and the ability to think creatively and critically
• Strong communication and presentation skills are essential, as well as the ability to work independently and collaborate with the team
• Excellent research skills and attention to detail
• Ability to consistently meet deadlines
• Familiarity with WGSN style reporting is highly desirable
• Ability to create visually compelling presentations
• Experience with graphic design tools to enhance the visual presentation of reports is highly desirable
• A portfolio showcasing previous trend forecasts or similar work is preferred
