Senior Accountant

Responsibilities:

• This role will be actively involved in monthly close processes by performing employee salary and benefit related accounting activities including, but not limited to the below topics:
  • 401k,
  • flexible spending account (FSA) account reconciliations,
  • vacation accrual,
  • accrued bonus,
  • accrued benefits, and
  • salary and wage reconciliations to the payroll register.
• Post and reconcile other accounts receivable.
• Prepare balance sheet fluctuation analysis as part of the month end closing process.
• Work closely with various internal teams to ensure the completeness and accuracy of data used for accounting purposes.
• Support the annual audit process by assisting with requests from external auditors and working to resolve open audit inquiries timely.
• Actively participate in process improvement efforts and drive automation of routine processes within the Accounting Team.
• Support ad hoc tasks, as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Commerce Graduate / Bachelor of Commerce Honors Graduate
• Chartered Accountant
• Big 4 experience in audit or tax
• 3+ years of experience working in an accounting function; prior public accounting experience
• Proficiency with tools such as Microsoft Excel and Word; experience with enterprise software (e.g., NetSuite, Oracle, Workday), a plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational and time management abilities
• Positive attitude and flexible, willing to jump in wherever needed
• Team oriented, ability to multi-task, proactive and consistently meets deadlines
• Willingness to work until 2PM EST during initial onboarding, month end close and for key projects for overlap with the US team
