Summary: The Sales Operations Analyst will be responsible for analyzing and calculating commission and incentive payments for our sales team. This individual will also work closely with the sales, finance, compensation, and payroll teams to ensure accuracy and consistency in commission and incentive related data. Additionally, the Sales Operations Analyst will support KPI and metric tracking for key Sales activities and meetings.

Essential Job Functions

  • Calculate and process commission and incentive payments for sales team
  • Perform commission analysis to identify errors and discrepancies
  • Collaborate with Sales and Finance teams to resolve issues with commission payments
  • Prepare commission reports, via SPIFF, and provide recommendations for process improvement
  • Maintain accurate commission and incentive records and documentation
  • Become proficient in multiple commission management systems utilized by the company including entering commission data, updating status of existing policies and reviewing reports.
  • Complete database update projects with keen attention to detail ensuring accuracy and efficiency
  • Prepare and update meeting decks in support of Sales meetings
  • Assist in other ad hoc data clean-up and mapping projects
  • Synthesizing large amounts of data into concise, actionable messaging and reporting
  • Proactively monitoring sales data looking for trends, anomalies, and other insights
  • General day-to-day support of sales staff and management
  • Studying and learning industry news and trends and incorporating these into the business forecasts
  • Other duties as assigned by leadership

Competencies

  • Ability to communicate effectively with sales reps and other departments
  • Knowledge of industry information systems
  • Provide a thorough monthly financial analysis of variable pay, investigate and explain variances for high/low result fluctuations
  • Communicate complex calculations and analysis in a manner that is easily understandable
  • Ability to understand and perform root cause analysis on sales metric variability and trends

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in commission analysis or related role
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other financial software
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency in Salesforce preferred
  • Proficiency in SPIFF preferred
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
