Are you ready to make a meaningful impact in the field of hematology? We're seeking a proactive, dynamic innovator to fill the role of Director of Learning & Development within our team. In this role you will shape Kura Oncology’s learning and development curricula in anticipation of our inaugural commercial launch in the US.

Essential Job Functions

  • Partner with commercial leadership teams to identify training needs and ensure programs support effective product launches, market expansion, and sales force effectiveness.
  • Lead the design and delivery of impactful training programs, supporting new-hire and advanced training, virtual and live sessions, launch and sales meetings, encompassing various aspects such as marketing, product information, competitive insights, and role-based training.
  • Develop and assess the effectiveness of the initial and ongoing training curricula for U.S. based customer-facing roles across sales, marketing and market access, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development, establishing processes for providing timely and actionable performance feedback.
  • Create and maintain a dynamic, goal-oriented continuous learning plan to drive ongoing development across the organization, utilizing diverse delivery methods and mediums to ensure exceptional training delivery and learning experiences.
  • Evaluate training plan and performance against budget to ensure efficient resource allocation, with effective budget management and reporting.
  • Effectively manage vendors/agencies involved in training initiatives.
  • Ensure all training programs adhere to company legal, regulatory, and compliance guidelines.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field, advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive Commercial experience with at least 3 years proven national home-office training leadership experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry
  • Previous direct pharmaceutical field sales and/or sales leadership experience strongly preferred, particularly in hematology or oncology
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing training strategies and initiatives.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate, motivate, and influence across various levels within and outside the organization.
  • Strong understanding of external stakeholder environment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in selling and coaching models.
  • Strong knowledge and experience of the end-to-end learning process, i.e., learning needs assessment, program design and delivery, and learning evaluation and assessment.
  • Knowledge of marketing, strategic and long-range planning, training, and market access
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams.
  • Passion for improving the lives of patients and caregivers affected by oncology and hematology conditions.
  • Ability to travel up to 40% of the time; domestic and limited international

The base range for a Director is $228,000 - $253,000 per year. Individual pay may vary based on additional factors, including, and without limitation, job-related skills, experience, work location, and relevant education or training. Kura's compensation package also includes generous benefits, equity, and participation in an annual target bonus.

Kura Oncology is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company discovering and developing personalized therapeutics for the treatment of blood cancers and solid tumors. The company’s diverse pipeline consists of small molecules that target cancer signaling pathways where there is a strong scientific and clinical rationale to improve outcomes by identifying those patients most likely to benefit from treatment. Kura’s pipeline consists of three investigational drug candidates: ziftomenib, tipifarnib and KO-2806. Ziftomenib, a once-daily, oral drug candidate targeting the menin-KMT2A protein-protein interaction, has received Breakthrough Therapy Designation for the treatment of R/R NPM1-mutant acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Kura has completed enrollment in a Phase 2 registration-directed trial of ziftomenib in R/R NPM1-mutant AML (KOMET-001). The Company is also conducting a series of clinical trials to evaluate ziftomenib in combination with current standards of care in newly diagnosed and R/R NPM1-mutant and KMT2A-rearranged AML. Tipifarnib, a potent and selective farnesyl transferase inhibitor (FTI), is currently in a Phase 1/2 trial in combination with alpelisib for patients with PIK3CA-dependent head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (KURRENT-HN). Kura is also evaluating KO-2806, a next-generation FTI, in a Phase 1 dose-escalation trial as a monotherapy and in combination with targeted therapies (FIT-001).
