Role Description:

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a new team developing AI-powered software and hardware solutions that bring advanced Mission Capabilities to the edge. As an Engineering Manager, you will play a critical role in managing and facilitating the development of these cutting edge products. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership, and a deep understanding of at least two of these engineering disciplines: AI, software, firmware, hardware.

You will be responsible for guiding a team of talented engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and delivering high-quality, scalable, and secure products. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Product, Growth, and Delivery, is essential to ensure alignment with our company roadmap and customer requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, inspire, and manage a team of engineers dedicated to developing and maintaining our Edge AI solutions
  • Advocate for the resources and support needed to enable the team and ensure successful execution of their projects
  • Help define and maintain rigorous engineering standards and methodologies that help bring the team to the next level
  • Participate in project planning and longer term new product research

Travel Expectations/Requirements: 5-15%

Location Expectations: Hybrid 3 days in the office in Phoenix, Arizona

The listed responsibilities are not exhaustive and additional responsibilities may be assigned based on the evolving needs of the organization. We are seeking a dynamic individual who is able to adapt and take on new responsibilities as they arise.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of industry experience, preferably in building and supporting complex systems involving both software and hardware development
  • 3+ years of experience managing engineering teams, with experience in a remote, distributed environment involving both internal and outsourced teams
  • Strong technical background in at least two of these engineering disciplines: AI, software, firmware, hardware
  • Proficiency in DevOps principles, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation
  • Experience with lab work for product development and testing on development kits, modules and prototypes
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills, with a track record of inspiring and empowering teams
  • High level of technical proficiency, with the ability to work within the team to solve complex problems
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to break down large tasks into smaller prioritized backlogs effectively

Amazing To Haves

  • Experience deploying on-device neural networks using SDKs for GPUs, DSPs, etc.
  • Experience building embedded systems in air-gapped environments

Full compensation packages are based on candidate experience. Compensation ranges are established using national benchmarking data and apply across all geographic locations within the United States.
