Director, Data Engineering

Position Summary

1. Contribute to business management by effectively solving business-related problems through data modeling/analysis/prediction.
2. Establish/support infrastructure that continuously grows to strategically analyze big data.

Role and Responsibilities

1. [Solving business-related problems] Approve data analysis strategies that meet business strategy.

2. [Establishing/operating big data infrastructure] Direct establishment/operation of infrastructure that can collect/analyze/predict big data(structured/unstructured).

3. [Establishing/operating data design] Direct to design and operate structure that can maintain data integrity.

4. [Data modeling/assessment] Approve the result of evaluated data model's consistency used for business decision-making.

5. [Data security] Establish a security system for data and approve strategy on protecting data from unauthorized person.

Skills and Qualifications

• As an expert in the field, uses professional concepts in developing resolutions to critical issues and broad design matters

• Works on issues that impact the success of business or addresses future concepts, products or technologies

• Creates formal networks with key decision-makers and may serve as external spokesperson for the organization

• Exercises wide latitude in determining objectives and approaches to critical assignments

• May direct and control the activities of a broad function in one or more functional areas

• Has overall responsibility for planning, staffing, budgeting, managing expense priorities and recommending and implementing changes and methods

• Regularly interacts with executives and/or major customers. Interactions may frequently involve special skills such as negotiating with customers or management or attempting to influence senior-level leaders regarding significant matters to the organization

• Typically requires a minimum 14 years of related experience and a Bachelor's degree, or 12 years and a Master's degree, or a PhD with 9 years experience
