The Strategic Vendor Management Analyst will report into the Head of Business Services Procurement, with a dotted line to the Strategic Vendor Management Consultant Lead. This is a strategic role that will be interacting with members of Northern’s internal Executive Management team, our largest 3rd party consulting vendors, numerous functional leaders, and Procurement Category Leads within Northern Trust. Responsibilities include helping to support the design and monitoring of our key Consulting Supplier Program (i.e. Big 4), leading data gathering and analysis, and supporting training and developing documentation. This person will liaison with key stakeholders and our supply chain to support the organization's consulting portfolio of suppliers.

The right candidate will support the Consulting Vendor Management Lead in standing up, owning, and governing the vendor management function overseeing our most strategic consulting vendors. Candidates should be well versed in vendor management, have previous experience conducting data analytics, presenting and advising to Executive Management teams, and have previously worked with 3rd party consulting vendors.

Major Duties:

  • Gather, analyze, and deliver vendor reporting for the largest and most strategic consulting vendors, including:
    • Design, rollout, and monitoring of vendor scorecards.
    • Design of vendor performance metrics and dashboards.
    • Balance of Trade metrics: Monitor total revenue generated from Northern Trust for deal consideration.
    • Pipeline Planning – maintain visibility into new contractual pipeline.
  • Create and maintain documentation for the Vendor Management Team.
  • Create and maintain training and education program materials for internal and external stakeholders (guides, recordings, decks, etc.)
  • Coordinate meetings and quarterly business reviews between executives, stakeholders, vendors, and Procurement along with documentation and readout of all activities and actions out of those meetings.
  • Own deck development, including all content.

  • Interprets internal/external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services.

Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or Finance.
  • 5 or more years’ experience in a Sourcing or Procurement related field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Proven experience in handling complex firmwide vendor relationships.
  • A thorough understanding of third-party (i.e., vendor, supplier, etc.) risk management, performance monitoring and Procurement processes.
  • Prior experience working for a consulting firm is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required along with ability to be highly flexible, strategic, collaborative and adaptable to change.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suites with advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
