We’re seeking a Sr. Quality Engineer to join our Research, Design & Development team. In this role, you will lead process and product improvements in a highly collaborative environment—and align our new material and product standards, specifications, testing protocols and vendor capabilities to guarantee the best products for our consumers. In addition, you will work closely with our Operations team in training and implementing every aspect of our quality program to ensure consistent product delivery. This role requires strong engineering and collaboration skills with a focus on implementing quality processes and policies—including the ability to influence and guide various teams.

A day in the office looks like this:

  • Owning and developing Product Test Plans
  • Reviewing product expectations and identifying appropriate safety, reliability and durability testing
  • Presenting product test plans and results to RD&D and Supply Chain teams to facilitate informed product decisions
  • Analyzing test results to summarize product performance against testing requirements
  • Creating and maintaining a library of test methods/protocols to ensure consistency and repeatability of all in-house testing and third-party lab testing
  • Identifying industry standards for raw material and finished product testing
  • Coaching and training RD&D team on appropriate testing standards
  • Collaborating with in-house Lab Manager to identify required testing capabilities
  • Participating in failure analysis and facilitating baseline testing for product improvement projects
  • Leading and/or supporting root-cause analysis for customer service inquiries
  • Collaborating with Product Integrity and Compliance teams

Requirements

Got the skills and experience? Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • BS/MS degree in Engineering, Science or Quality Management
  • 5+ years of product engineering experience
  • 3+ years of implementing quality engineering processes
  • Deep understanding of raw material processing and handling in global manufacturing environments
  • Deep understanding of manufacturing processes
  • Proven work experience in fields of Quality, Engineering and Testing Standards
  • Mastery in ASTM, ANSI/BIFMA and other testing standards; can readily identify appropriate test standards for each application
  • Experience working with third-party testing labs
  • Experience in MS Office, with an emphasis on an ability to build and present reports
  • Experience in communication through remote mediums, such as video conferences, e-mails and text communication
  • Regulatory requirement expert within furniture
  • Must be comfortable with systems and data analysis

  • Salary: $130,500-$145,000 with an annual bonus of up to 10%
