We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Machine Learning Data Scientist to join our dynamic team to identify Theft and fraud patterns and design solutions to prevent it. In this role, you will work with a team of skilled engineers and analysts to reliably solve complex problems, while getting hands-on experience with cutting edge technologies. We are seeking a talented Machine Learning Engineer /Data scientist, specializing in Computer Vision. In this role, you will focus on developing advanced machine learning models that address a variety of business challenges. You will also be working with multiple teams across security/enterprise to understand the problem and then analyze and leverage computer vision and other ML skills and drive impactful solutions. We will look to you to own problem and work with data to provide solution. We’ll look to you to mentor and provide technical support within a team, including mentoring junior team members, and present your work and your team’s work to business partners and other target teams.

Key Responsibilities include, Design, develop, and deploy computer vision models and algorithms for tasks such as image classification, object detection, segmentation, and facial recognition. Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of machine learning projects, including data preparation, model training, evaluation, and deployment. Our work directly protects Target and our Guests. Additional skills and experience we are interested in:

• Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in machine learning, data science, or a related field, with a proven track record of developing and deploying machine learning models
• Proficiency in machine learning frameworks and libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, or similar
• Proficiency in data cleaning, preprocessing, and augmentation techniques to ensure high-quality training data
• Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, Hadoop/Hive, Spark.
• Strong experience with computer vision libraries and frameworks.
• Familiarity with deep learning architectures like CNNs, GANs, and transformers.
• Expertise in tuning hyperparameters (e.g., learning rate, batch size) to optimize model performance.
• Design, develop, and deploy advanced predictive models and machine learning algorithms to address business challenges.
• Evaluate model performance using metrics such as accuracy, precision, recall, and F1 score. Conduct error analysis and optimize models accordingly
• Ability to create RESTful APIs to expose computer vision models as services.
• Understanding the scalability challenges of computer vision models and implementing strategies to handle increased workloads.
• Strong problem-solving skills, passion for solving interesting and relevant real-world problems using a data science approach.
• Excellent communication skills. Ability to clearly tell data driven stories through appropriate visualizations, graphs, and narratives.
• Strong team player with ability to collaborate effectively across geographies/time zones.
