GSK R&D and Digital and Tech’s collective goal is to deliver business impact, including the acceleration of the discovery and development of medicines and vaccines to patients. The R&D Digital and Tech remit has expanded over the past few years, and to position GSK for the future, the change will strengthen R&D Tech, to provide more strategic impact, focus, accountability, and improved decision making in the use of Digital, Data and Analytics (DDA) to strengthen the pipeline.

Senior Product Designer

R&D Tech strive to deliver products and services to our R&D customers that meet the needs of the business whilst being intuitive, efficient, effective, and satisfying to use. We require a skilled Product Designer with UX expertise, experience in business- and user-centered analysis, and an appreciation for design and process improvement, to join our Product Design Team. They will help deliver better user experiences and business processes within our application portfolio, identifying opportunities to improve systems and processes whilst advocating a user-centered focus within Agile ways of working.

In this role you will be

  • Optimising the delivery of business value through business partnering, process improvement, user research and user-centered design.
  • Performing user research through qualitative enquiry, quantitative data analysis and user testing within the R&D customer base of this product area.
  • Driving process optimisation through process modelling and service design, taking into consideration the product strategy and system and data landscapes as well as driving experience design activities to improve user interfaces and task flows through wireframing, prototyping and ideation workshops.
  • Working closely with the Product Owner and other members of the product team, with a clear focus on delivering value quickly while helping to steer the product area towards business- and user-centered improvements.
  • Engaging with the R&D Tech UX & Design Team to support the maturity of UX and Design across R&D Tech, specifically working with other UX practitioners and sharing experiences.
  • Partnering with the business area to understand their challenges and needs, whilst working to manage system and process changes within these user groups, helping ensure smooth deployments and satisfied customers.

Why you?

Basic Qualifications & Skills:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Bachelor’s degree – IT or Science related discipline
  • Minimum experience in working in an IT product related industry, with experience in IT software analysis, design, and delivery, and experience the UX space, particularly areas of user research, experience design and service design.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

Please note the following skills are not necessary, just preferred, if you do not have them, please still apply:

  • Bachelor’s Degree – User Experience or Design
  • Experience in the Pharma Industry would be preferred
  • Experience in a Data Science role would be considered a plus
