POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a Software Engineer to join our Globalization and Accessibility team, where you will play a pivotal role in crafting intuitive, user-centric solutions that cater to diverse languages, cultures, and abilities. As a core member of our collaborative team, you will develop functional software from product designs, leveraging your technical expertise in driving innovation and delivering exceptional experiences for users worldwide.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• You will be responsible for high-quality design and development practices This includes participation in key project phases: ideation, architecture design, implementation, and testing
• Using metrics as a measure of success for rollouts of projects
• Collaborate with other developers to create innovative, high-quality software for accessing, manipulating, and visualizing data
• Research and define patterns, toolkits, and libraries that support localization and accessible software development. Work with various engineering teams to support the adoption of these tools
• Mentoring other developers in through code review, pairing, and establishing best practices applicable to building localized and accessible software

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Required:

• A bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a closely related field. Will consider 5+ years of relevant professional experience in lieu of degree;
• 4 – 6 years of industry experience as a frontend or full-stack developer in a cross-functional team delivering software and web applications;
• Hands-on expertise with JavaScript and TypeScript;
• Hands-on expertise with modern HTML and CSS;
• Experience using React or comparable framework;
• Familiar with evaluating Accessibility using tools such as Axe and screen readers like Voiceover and NVDA;
• History of creating design documents for a technical audience;
• Proven experience in developing localized software products;
• Has a track record of working effectively with project managers to deliver high quality and effective software solutions;
• Outstanding communication skills;

Desired:

• Some experience using Java and Spring;
• Knowledge of writing command line tools with Node.js;
• Experience integrating with Computer-assisted Translation (CAT) tools;
