Job Summary:

Canadian Derivatives Clearing Corporation (CDCC), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Montréal Exchange (MX), acts as the central clearing counterparty (CCP) for exchange-traded derivative products in Canada and for a growing range of financial instruments trading in the over-the-counter (OTC) markets. CDCC also offers central counterparty clearing services for the Canadian fixed income repo market.

The Clearing Services Analyst acts as a key contributor to the growth and strategic development of CDCC. The analyst is able to produce in-depth analysis on financial markets and services that support strategic and operational projects and changes.

You will collect, monitor, and analyze market and industry data to highlight trends and provide substantiation for business cases and/or new initiatives. You may also be required to formulate recommendations based on the analysis which may include peer comparisons. You will also be able to engage and contribute to discussions with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders including business partners, clients, and regulators.

**Key Accountabilities

  • Supports the execution of strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
  • Breaks down strategic problems, and analyzes data and information to provide insights and recommendations
  • Coordinates and executes specific activities for the implementation of strategic initiatives; includes tracking metrics and milestones
  • Analyzes data and information in systems to provide insights and recommendations
  • Assist in the preparation and presentations of business cases
  • Follows services and market development trends at other clearinghouses and provides summaries and comparisons with CDCC practices
  • Keeps up to date with developments in competitive forces in clearing space and highlights any threats/development
  • Follows upcoming regulations affecting participants and provides summaries of likely impacts on clearing members
  • Analyzes evolution of fee models at other clearinghouses and participates in internal working groups to study fees and proposes and/or supports recommended changes
  • Provides answers and submits global industry groups annual surveys

**Must haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Commerce, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • 1-2 years of experience in financial markets, focusing on data analysis, business operations, or IT roles.
  • Strong proficiency in both qualitative and quantitative analysis, with the ability to align findings with business strategy.
  • Technical expertise in analytical tools, acquired through education or professional experience.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously in a dynamic, fast-paced environment alongside high-performing professionals.
  • Positive, energetic attitude with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • Advanced problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Eagerness to learn, with a strong ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Access.
  • Skilled in preparing polished PowerPoint presentations.
  • Fluency in both French and English (written and spoken) is required, as this role involves regular interaction with partners and stakeholders in both languages.

**Nice to haves

  • Familiarity with Bloomberg Terminal.
  • Proficient in Google Suite
