Director of Engineering

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Director to manage 5-10 development teams and actively contribute to the growth of the company. In this role you will be influencing the company Software Engineering strategy. You would also be the day-to-day sparring partner of top leadership. Your role would have a strong focus on optimising product and software development processes across the group.

Responsibilities:

• Lead, inspire, and mentor 5-10 cross-functional engineering teams working with cutting-edge web and mobile technologies (Java, Kotlin, JavaScript, Swift, etc.), ensuring alignment with business goals and fostering a culture of innovation.
• Ensure your teams have a compelling vision, mission, and the metrics to measure progress and success.
• Champion continuous innovation in system architecture, application design, and development processes, leveraging emerging technologies like cloud, AI, and automation to optimize performance and enhance customer experience.
• Ensure adherence to engineering standards and best practices.
• Work closely with product managers and other stakeholders to define product requirements, develop project plans, and ensure timely delivery of new features and enhancements.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with global teams to drive cohesive engineering efforts across the organization, contributing to large-scale initiatives such as cloud transformation and platform unification.
• Manage the hiring, onboarding, and development of team members, ensure a diverse and inclusive workplace .
• Serve as a key liaison between engineering, product management, and executive leadership, ensuring clear and effective communication of technical strategies, project progress, and business priorities.

Requirements

• 10+ years of hands-on experience in software development, with deep expertise in building and scaling web or app-based systems using technologies such as Java, Kotlin, JavaScript, Swift, and SQL/NoSQL databases.
• 5+ years of experience leading high-performing Agile development teams, with a deep understanding of Agile methodologies, Lean principles, and DevOps practices to deliver high-quality products at scale.
• Proven technical leadership in mobile and web technology ecosystems, with a track record of architecting robust solutions that drive innovation, scalability, and performance.
• Strong technical knowledge and experience with mobile and web development technologies .
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other teams and departments.
