Summary:

NPI Engineer

We are looking for a strong NPI Engineer to join our Mexican manufacturing team. You will work closely with our engineering and manufacturing teams in San Jose to set up and build our products.

Responsibilities:

  • Create manufacturing plans for prototype, pilot production, and full production.
    Analyze and recommend corrective action in case of any design failure.
  • Develop product test plans and perform production tests according to manufacturing process instructions.
  • Prepare plans for all NPI projects, coordinate with stakeholders, and ensure good quality products.
  • Monitor the status of all new products and ensure effective execution of projects according to required policies and procedures.
  • Develop strong working relationships with Engineering and Production teams to ensure all company objectives are met.
  • Reviews production program equipment, hardware, and tooling; makes recommendations for repairs or replacement.
  • Installs new equipment and ensures that it operates correctly; trains others to operate new machinery.
  • Transfer the product from the pilot manufacturing line to the volume manufacturing line.

Required Experience:

  • A results-oriented and dedicated personality with proven creative and critical thinking capabilities.
  • Excellent English language skills
  • A deep understanding of the development cycle as a process and a discipline – the ability to drive first principles and maintain focus on goals during constant change, learning, and new analysis.
  • 5+ years of experience in New Product Introduction (NPI) and/or Manufacturing Engineering environment.
  • BS/MS Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Excellent leadership, data presentation, communication, and organizational skills. Extreme attention to detail.
  • Experienced in Python programming.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings. Familiar with PCB failure analysis and root cause analysis in general.

Nice to Haves:

Knowledge of wireless protocols and hardware (BLE, Lora, Cell, etc.)

Ability to use E-cad tools (Altium, Eagle, Kicad)

knowledge of adhesives or experience designing enclosures

Familiar with SolidWorks and LabVIEW
