Network & Voice Engineer

The Network & Voice Engineer’s role is to establish the TU network (data & voice) environment by performing device installation, configuration, and enforcing our enterprise standards. They will implement the enterprise solutions and improve the resilience of the current environment. Strong communications skill sets are necessary for interactions via email and phone with clients.

The position of Network & Voice Engineer reports to the Senior Manager of Network Engineering.

As a network & voice engineer, you'll need to:

  • Design, implement, and maintain Voice solutions for clients

  • Provide support to Project or Demand Manager’s based on requirements to integrate a network setup.

  • Complete Maintenance activities, such as code updates & equipment updates

  • Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management & Capacity Management

  • Respond to inquiries from staff, administrators, service providers, site personnel and outside vendors and etc. to provide technical assistance and support

  • Security & Audit compliance

  • Configure and troubleshoot IP phones, SIP trunks, and other related devices

  • Provide technical support to customers on Voice solutions and services

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex issues related to voice communication systems

  • Develop documentation for configuration guides, troubleshooting procedures, and knowledge base articles

  • Build/ support our LAN/ WAN infrastructure setups

  • Liaise with the project management teams, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth business transitions

  • Respond to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders including clients, service providers, etc…

  • Enforcing the Security & Audit compliance

  • Operational-related Moves, Adds, Changes, and Deletes (MACD)

  • Participate in the Development & Maintenance of operational documentation, to include updating Engineering documentation changes due to operational changes, escalation procedures & vendor contracts

Technical Skills

  • The Network & Voice Engineer is required to have below technical skills.
  • Strong understanding of SIP protocols, VoIP networks, and IP Telephony platforms of Cisco, Genesys, etc...
  • Knowledge about various types of IP phones including the hard and softphones
  • Hands on implementation experience for SIP gateways and SBC’s
  • L2 experience in Network & Voice Support
  • Exposure to cloud telephony solutions
  • Experience working with service providers' gateways for international calling scenarios
  • Networking Technologies: DNS, DHCP, VPN, Network Security, IP Routing Protocols, Switching and Routing, Subnetting, etc…
  • Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • Any Voice related certification/s; Trainings on Voice equipments, platforms,
  • Ability to communicate in an understandable, polite and friendly manner, both written and verbal to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-past working environment
  • High level technology problem solving skills
  • Standing and sitting for sustained periods of time, at least 25%
  • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time
