Position Summary

Work on a team of engineers providing installation support (lab and production) for the Samsung NFV Platform and Orchestration solutions. Perform Installation, commissioning, and configuration of virtualized environment.

Role and Responsibilities

Job Description:

Work on a team of engineers providing installation support (lab and production) for the Samsung NFV Platform and Orchestration solutions. Perform Installation, commissioning, and configuration of virtualized environment. This includes BIOS configuration, Linux Operating System installations and configuration, and network scripts. Perform KVM, numa, and grub configuration. Install Openstack platform, and configuration of the same. Work on the Installation, configuration, and maintenance of Kubernetes-based CaaS environments, including Redhat, Openshift and Windriver Titanium, as well as the community version of Kubernetes. Work on the Installation, configuration, and maintenance of CNCF PaaS toolsets, such as Prometheus, Jaeger, Grafana, Kiali, etc. Perform Test Engineering. Create test cases, test plans, and execute test plans for Samsung Orchestration solutions in Samsung Lab as well as in customer labs. Document test results, including feature testing, performance testing and inter-operability testing. Responsible for Tier2/3 Support. Work in a team environment, to troubleshoot commercial Virtualization and Orchestration application issues, propose workarounds, and work with R&D to provide the RCA (Root Cause Analysis) to the customer. Work closely with various support organizations and cross-functional teams from SEA and Samsung R&D to achieve successful new product rollouts and developments. Ensure that customer commitments are achieved according to plan.

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:

Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications and Network Engineering, a related field or foreign equivalent and 2 years of post-baccalaureate experience in job offered or related job titles. Applicants must have 2 years of experience in the following: (1) virtualization technologies, including virtual machines and containers and cloud-native concepts; (2) working in a Linux environment, including command-line; (3) networking concepts including TCP/IP, sockets, IPv4/6, routing and interface snooping; (4) compute resource aspects: CPU, memory and disk and assessing the performance of each aspect; (5) Mobile Network LTE/5G elements including EPC, 5GC, vRAN, MANO; (6) Openstack. 10% domestic travel required.
