What is the opportunity?
RBC Wealth Managements’ Investment and Trading (I&T) Group is a global team with members in Canada, the U.S., the UK, Asia and the Caribbean. The group provides service and support to RBC Canada and RBC Global WM Advisors related to asset allocation, responsible investing and the construction of portfolios utilizing marketable securities (equities, fixed income securities, ETFs, structured notes), mutual funds, third party asset managers and Alternative Investments.
As a Senior Strategic Business Initiatives Associate, you will become a key member of the RBC Wealth Management Private Markets team, taking on the coordination of the groups fund launches, daily support, and maintenance/supervisory functions of the investments.
What will you do?
Initiative support and delivery
- Support the continued enhancements of the Private Markets team and Private Market funds shelf with a focus on operations, governance, and content management including scalable user guides
- Provide timely daily support to Investment Advisors and Counsellors across Canada.
- Conduct data analysis and present meaningful conclusions in a concise manner.
- Develop investment knowledge, especially in the Alternative Investment space, through reading of vast amounts of research and the team’s own content.
Compliance
- Manage the ongoing development, implementation and maintenance of compliance policies/procedures related to alternative investments.
- Partner with internal stakeholders in Legal, Compliance, Risk, Operations and Product Management teams to address and manage issues related to distribution of private markets solutions and other investment solution initiatives.
Stakeholder Management
- Support Vice President, Product Development and Vice President, Head of Alternative Investments on the day-to-day operations of the Private Markets Group at RBC Wealth Management.
- Establish a working knowledge of the Alternative Investments portfolio advisory team members and their detailed knowledge of the products and build a working relationship with the fund companies and fund administrators.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Bachelor's Degree or higher level education.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem solving and organizational skills.
- Results-driven with strong ability to collaborate.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, and able to dissect complex ideas and concepts to provide clear, succinct and relevant summaries and insights.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Nice-to-have
- Previous management consulting experience.
- Proficiency with FactSet, Bloomberg, Tableau.
- Fluency in French Language
- Experience in Mutual Funds Trading or Equity Fixed Income Trading
