Structural Bridge Engineer

AECOM is seeking a Structural Bridge Engineer to be based in Piscataway, NJ.

Our Structural Engineers are involved in planning, preparation and design for New Jersey transportation bridge projects. This is a wonderful opportunity to work on a variety of exciting design/build projects that are highly visible adding value to your career development. These could be small, medium and large projects, including long-span bridges. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Technical resource may serve as technical advisor for team
• Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise
• Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high-quality cost-effective work by others
• Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables
• Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects
• Uses expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E package
• Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings
• Prepares technical specification sections
• Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements

Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering plus four years of relevant experience in transportation structures or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to hold a PE license in both NY and NJ within 12 months of hire
• Experience working with highway bridge design projects is preferred; rail bridges project a plus
• Experience working in New Jersey transportation agencies
• Proficiency with CAD and similar computer software
