We’re looking for a Senior IT Support Engineer

In the IT support team, you help keep everyone at iwoca productive and happy. You’ll be a primary point of contact for iwoca staff, and influence how we keep systems running smoothly and securely.

The role

IT Support: You’ll have a varied, and varied role, with many interesting problems to solve. Your primary focus will be helping evolve IT operations and implementing process automation for IT support:

  • Taking on projects from concept to fulfilment..
  • Working with stakeholders at all levels of the business to ensure that IT is helping them in the best way possible.
  • Evaluate new and emerging security issues and update operating standards to mitigate threats..

New starter on boarding experience: You’ll collaborate with colleagues in the IT team, and People Ops team, to ensure new starters get the best on boarding experience possible:

  • Managing the on boarding processes and implementing improvements.
  • Working with suppliers to ensure equipment is up-to-date and available for new starters..
  • Find innovative solutions for collaboration and knowledge sharing.

IT best practices and process: Review current IT Practices as a team, and proactively push for improvements:

  • Process improvements and optimisation.
  • Proactively find opportunities for automation..
  • Develop cutting-edge device management and security solutions.

The team

Our IT team keeps everything running smoothly, equipping staff with the best tools and support. They safeguard our data, streamline onboarding and offboarding, and manage system access and permissions. The IT team is 4 people doing Support, IT Engineering and Security

The requirements

Essential:

  • Proven commercial experience in an IT or Technical Support role.
  • Management and setup experience of helpdesk systems and processes. (Jira, Zendesk ect)
  • Configuration and installation skills with various operating systems e.g. Windows 11, macOS, iOS, Android, Linux.
  • Understanding IT security issues and secure configuration principles.
  • Team player with a fine balance of confidence, gravitas, humility, and enthusiasm: you will work with various stakeholders to get stuff done in a rapidly growing environment.

Bonus:

  • Passionate about skill growth and learning, with a demonstrable sense of curiosity.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to relay complex technical information to non-technically minded colleagues.
  • Knowledge of cloud environments (AWS, GCP).
  • Scripting languages (Bash, Python, PowerShell).

The salary

We expect to pay from £50,000 - £56,000 for this role. But, we’re open-minded, so definitely include your salary goals with your application. We routinely benchmark salaries against market rates, and run quarterly performance and salary reviews.
