What is the Senior Analyst - Investment & Trade Client Services- Derivatives Support responsible for?

  • Trade Services (TS) is part of the wider Investment Operations global department which encompasses Corporate Actions, Pricing and Security Maintenance. This role within TS performs a multitude of deadline & analytical oriented tasks across various different functions to support the trading desks by performing completion, confirmation and settlement of trades. Some of the tasks associated with the role may involve (but are not limited to) the following: inputting, matching, and confirming trades, resolving discrepancies between parties, resolution of pre and post settlement date and managing and processing life cycle events attached to OTC Derivative transactions as well as Digital Assets such as Cryptocurrencies.

What are the ongoing responsibilities of a Senior Analyst - Investment & Trade Client Services - Derivatives Support?

Trade Execution/Completion:

  • Insert, match, and confirm OTC and ETD Derivative trades manually or utilizing appropriate systems.
  • Process payments attached to life cycle events and the settlement of OTC Derivatives and FIAT currencies attached to the Cryptocurrency workflow.
  • Resolve discrepancies between both broker and investment manager.
  • Completion of trades and life cycle events within the deadline.
  • Sending daily reports to different groups internally and externally (third party administrators).
  • Liaise with different departments inside and outside FT to resolve process related issues.
  • Engage in Vendor Management relationship.
  • Respond to inquiries and resolve trade related issues for Portfolio Administration and Treasury departments.

Static Data:

  • Research and resolve transmission dashboard breaks and coordinate current and future resolution of issues with appropriate parties.
  • Coordinate required broker and custodian settlement instruction updates with SDM.

Controls/Metrics:

  • Produce monthly & ad-hoc metrics for functions being performed.
  • Ensure procedures/checklists/contacts are up to date and signed off.

Process Improvement:

  • Enhance Straight Through Processing for all functions performed, e.g. participate in projects, offer suggestion to enhance processes and to increase STP rates.
  • Take an active part in the testing of new systems/functions.
  • Drive solutions by constantly looking at reducing risk and streamlining processes such as trade completion and confirmation.
  • Participate in projects/initiatives and convert ideas into execution.

Risk Management:

  • Manage risk and prioritize the workload effectively.
  • Escalation of potential issues at earliest possible opportunity.
  • Highlight issues and report root cause and trends to management.
  • Coordinate audit reviews, responding timely and thoroughly.

What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful?

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related major or equivalent experience is required for this position.
  • 3-5 years of investment industry experience required.
  • Graduate level courses in accounting, finance or management are viewed favorably.
  • Relevant financial industry examination is desirable.
  • Knowledge of the system is desirable but not mandatory.
  • Excellent command of English, both spoken and written.
  • Good organizational and time management skills as well as attention to detail and accuracy is required.
  • Ability to work on multiple deadline-oriented tasks.
  • Good market and financial services operational knowledge.
  • Timeliness and ability to adapt with wider changes in the market.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Access)
  • Should be flexible to shift timings.

Work Shift Timing - 6:30 PM - 3:30 AM IST
