The position will work collaboratively with employees and the management team to implement operational improvements that focus on improving quality, productivity, labor, and cost saving efficiencies. He/she ensures that initiatives are being developed and implemented consistently across the site for continually improving key performance indicators. He/she shall be a change agent, never satisfied with the status quo. Initiates action, overcomes obstacles, makes progress and drives a process or project from start to finish as an individual or within a team to achieve acceptable results. Works with aggressiveness, tenacity, persistence, and intelligent forcefulness.

Standard Duties:

  • Consult with all departments to improve Operational Excellence and ensure implementation and sustainability.
  • Identify, initiate, and lead changeover, cycle time, and line balancing projects.
  • Direct and implement activities for continuous improvement.
  • Act as a champion and change agent for driving positive culture change and improving operational efficiencies while deploying new techniques and tactics. Analyze work force utilization, facility layout, and operational data such as production costs, process flow charts, and production schedules, to determine efficient utilization of workers and equipment.
  • Recommend methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing work flow, relocating work stations and equipment, and purchase of equipment.
  • Design of packaging, racks, and material presentation to optimize production.

  • Travel is occasionally required, up to 10% of the time.

Customer Focus Building Effective Teams Drive for Results Informing Motivating Others Conflict Management Ethics and Values

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably Engineering centric
  • Five years + continuous improvement experience
  • Certified Black Belt preferred
  • Product Flow, Lean Transformations, Manufacturing and/or process engineering experience in a production environment preferred
  • Ability to instruct others in Flow and Lean principles
  • SAP experience
  • Ability to generate clear, concise work instructions and troubleshoot assembly issues impacting productivity.
