Job Description

Blue Water Thinking is seeking an experienced and dedicated Business Analyst to join our team, supporting a large project at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The Business Analyst will work independently to perform a variety of tasks, including updating project schedules, tracking risks, and updating project documents such as status reports and briefings. This role requires someone with a keen eye for detail and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced project management environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Update project schedules and track risks, ensuring all information is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Maintain and update project documents, including status reports, briefings, and other critical project deliverables.
  • Collaborate with the project management team to ensure smooth execution of project activities and timely communication of any issues or risks.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of project management documentation, such as meeting minutes, presentations, and action item trackers.
  • Provide regular project updates to the team, ensuring all stakeholders are informed of project status.
  • Support the PMO team in meeting its objectives by performing additional tasks as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 1+ years of work experience in a project management or business analyst role.
  • Proficiency with the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a federal contracting environment, particularly with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
  • Familiarity with project management tools and software.

Eligibility:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required federal public trust clearance for this role.

Compensation:

Salary for this position is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements.

The proposed salary range for this position is $60,000 - $70,000.
