We are now recruiting a Regional Sales Director to play a key role in our Civils & Drainage senior leadership team.

So Whats the Mission?

Reporting to the Managing Director (Civils & Drainage) you will lead and inspire a team of Regional Sales Managers to achieve and exceed sales targets by fostering a results-driven and commercially focused environment.

Contributing to the overall strategy and direction of the business, the role will involve developing and implementing regional and area business strategies, setting and monitoring performance against financial targets and budgets, as well as developing strong, strategic relationships with senior-level merchant and contractor customers whilst driving sustainable, long-term business growth.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Develop and implement a commercially driven sales strategy within the North and Scotland region, that is aligned with the overall company objectives, setting budgets and performance targets that will drive top-line growth, profit margin expansion, and market share gains.
  • Build and promote a high-performing team culture capable of delivering exceptional results, including training, coaching and performance management.
  • Drive commercial excellence, maximising profitability through effective pricing strategies, contract negotiations, margin management, and cost control.
  • Develop and implement financial plans and budgets, monitoring key performance indicators to drive continuous improvement.
  • Build and maintain senior-level customer relationships, cultivating and strengthening strategic partnerships with key customers to ensure long-term, profitable and sustainable business.
  • Collaborate effectively with other departments, including design, engineering, marketing, product development, and operations, to achieve business objectives.
  • Maintain overall budgetary control for the team.
  • Actively participate in the senior leadership team, providing input and insights to shape the company’s future growth strategies and business plans.
  • Represent Marshalls at industry events and conferences, building relationships with key industry stakeholders.

What will you need to bring with you?

  • Ideally you will offer a track record in a sales or commercial leadership role, with demonstrable success in leading and driving a sales team to achieve and exceed targets.
  • Experience in mentoring, coaching, and managing a high-performance sales team, with a focus on professional development and talent retention.
  • Strong commercial acumen with expertise in market dynamics and pricing strategies
  • Ability to create and implement strategic sales plans aligned with business goals
  • Excellent relationship-building skills with senior stakeholders and customers
  • Analytical thinker with a knack for identifying market opportunities and overcoming challenges
  • Proficient in CRM systems to manage sales performance and customer relationships
  • Passionate about driving results and consistently exceeding targets
  • Strong commercial acumen: Deep understanding of market dynamics, pricing strategies, and profit optimisation, with the ability to make data-driven decisions that enhance business growth.
  • And of course as an internal applicant you will offer Industry-specific knowledge
