Old Queen Street Media owns and operates UnHerd, The Old Queen Street Café, the UnHerd Club and CoEditor, a publishing technology startup.

We are seeking a highly organised, proactive, and detail-oriented Executive Assistant (EA) to support our CEO and provide cross-team coordination. The EA will be instrumental in ensuring efficient day-to-day operations, streamlining communication, and enabling seamless collaboration across our media platforms and other ventures.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the CEO

  • Diary & Schedule Management: Effectively manage the CEO’s calendar, balancing internal and external meetings, travel, and events.
  • Meeting Preparation: Coordinate agendas, prepare briefing materials, and ensure the CEO is well-prepared for all meetings and events.
  • Coordination: Organise and facilitate venues and travel arrangements for the CEO and the senior team.
  • Email & Correspondence Management: Manage the CEO’s inbox, prioritising key communications, drafting emails, and maintaining clear lines of communication between the CEO and key stakeholders.

Cross-Team Support & Coordination

  • Meeting Coordination: Schedule, organise, and manage cross-team meetings, ensuring all teams are aligned on priorities and strategic initiatives.
  • Event Management: Lead the planning and execution of both internal and external events, including team workshops, conferences, and public-facing engagements.
  • Project Support: Provide administrative and coordination support for company-wide projects and initiatives, working closely with teams across the group to ensure timelines and objectives are met.
  • Document & Presentation Management: Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and key documents for the CEO, board and senior leadership team.

Competitive salary dependent on experience.

Requirements

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience as an Executive Assistant, ideally with experience supporting C-suite executives.
  • Confidentiality & Discretion: Handle sensitive matters with the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Exceptional Organisational Skills: Ability to juggle multiple tasks and projects, prioritising effectively to ensure all deadlines are met.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable in a fast-moving environment, with a flexible approach to changing priorities and last-minute adjustments.
  • Strong Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Tech-Savvy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Workspace, and an ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies.
  • Attention to Detail: A meticulous eye for detail, especially in managing schedules, logistics, and ensuring the highest level of accuracy in all tasks.
  • Proactive Problem-Solver: Ability to anticipate issues and solve problems before they arise, ensuring smooth daily operations.
  • Culture Fit: An interest in politics, current affairs and the media would be a major advantage.
