Bingel is the adaptive all-round platform for primary education where teachers and pupils are central. Bingel assists the teacher in achieving his or her main goal: getting the best learning outcomes for each pupil. Its different modules support the teacher not only by offering the best quality teaching materials, but also by offering a range of time-saving solutions on planning, preparing, coaching and assessing. Pupils in Belgium, Finland, Sweden and the Netherlands love Bingel as their gamified learning platform for every-day use. Their personal avatar joins them while they’re learning and adapted practicing, with which they earn virtual money that can be used for buying avatar accessories or games.

Role responsibilities

Bingel TMS is an application that helps teachers in Bingel with their day-to-day tasks. It allows them (e.g.) to manage their teaching methods, create their weekly planning, zoom in on a pupil's specific care needs and compile reports to give to pupils. As a Test Automation Engineer you will help us develop Bingel TMS and drive consensus on quality guidelines and requirements, ensure the team produces is in line with these, by creating visibility through mostly automated testing of defects against the guidelines and requirements, work with complex and varying assignments with accountability for end results. You'll work closely with the team in terms of code standards and best practices for automation testing. There might be some (max. 30%) manual testing as well.

Must-have requirements

• Experience with automation testing with Java and Selenium (3-6 years of experience)
• experience setting up new automation tests from scratch,
• experience with RestAssured (good knowledge),
• Git (good knowledge),
• Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins/Bitbucket
• Maven (good level of knowledge)
• Spring (basic knowledge),
• SQL (basic knowledge)
• good communication skills in English, ability to work in an international environment

• Continuous improvement mindset

Nice-to-have requirements

• familiarity with BDD (Cucumber),
• BrowserStack or similar,
• TestRail or a similar test management tool,
• Some experience with Load testing (Jmeter / Gatling – performance testing)
