Senior Software Development Engineer (Lead)

Location: Bengaluru, India | 100% on-site

The impact you’ll make:

We are looking for a talented and passionate senior engineer to lead the way on the development and maintenance for a subset of ABG backend web services. These services support our mobile and web ecommerce products - the primary driver of $9B in annual revenue.

This role requires a resourceful individual, a persistent problem solver, and a strong hands-on engineer.

What you’ll do:

• Building a deep understanding of existing systems
• Participating in design reviews with peers and stakeholders
• Leading the implementation of new product development
• Reviewing code developed by other developers, providing feedback on style, functional correctness, testability, and efficiency
• Triage system-wide issues and identify root cause of incidents
• Working with architects and engineering managers to plan the technical details of new work
• Building transparent systems with proper monitoring, observability, and alerting
• Planning for robust build, test, and deployment automation
• Working within an Agile framework

What we’re looking for:

• 4-year degree in Computer Science or another related field
• Overall 8+ years’ experience as software engineer including 2+ years as Senior developer/Tech leader.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as an engineer doing development with ReactJS, Nodejs, JavaScript, JSF, Spring and other UI technologies.
• Strong experience in building applications/services on Oracle & AWS cloud environments.
• Strong experience in application design, design patterns and performance tuning.
• Strong experience in ReactJS, HTML5, Node.js, CSS
• Strong SQL, Data Modeling and DB skills with experience of working on Oracle and PostgreSQL databases.
• Must have experience with tools/frameworks such as GitHub, Jenkins and Maven
• Experience with some test-driven development tools and techniques: Mockito, REST-assured.
• Strong/hands-on experience in creating proper RESTful Services & Microservices with JSON
• Ability to implement multiple protocols: gRCP, Websockets, Webhooks, SFTP, Kafka, JMS
• Must have experience CI/CD processes.
• Must have Experience of Agile methods / Application Design
• Must be Good Team Lead capabilities
• Experience in leading the team and guiding the team technically.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
