The opportunity to accelerate our time to insights hinges on our ability to integrate, enrich and govern our disparate and evolving data sources, at speed and scale. The Human Health (HH) IT Data and Analytics (DnA) team’s mission is to focus on driving these capabilities to increase utilization of data within the organization.

We have an outstanding opportunity for an enterprising data product manager and analyst who will thrive in a landscape and technology environment which is continuously evolving, requiring a leader who is collaborative, self-motivated, takes accountability and drives high-quality results.

Reporting to the Chapter Lead, HH IT Japan Data Platform Engineering and Architecture, the HH IT Data & Analytics Product Manager and Analyst owns the data products through the duration of their lifecycle and defines how the products are deployed and managed in the market in close collaboration with her or his counterparts in the business and the core data product teams.

By working closely with business and product owners, the candidate ensures that the technology solutions align with the business needs, goals, and priorities. They actively participate in discussions and meetings with stakeholders to gather requirements, clarify doubts, and provide guidance on the technical feasibility of solutions.

The Product Manager and Analyst is instrumental in accelerating execution and value realization within the Japan market through applying technical expertise in Data & Analytics are, while following Data Governance best practices to ensure standardized and compliant solutions.

She or he interacts closely with the Solution Architect and Product Line Technical Lead to deliver products in line with the long-term technology strategy of our company, building solutions on a world-class data platform environment and influencing the development, enhancement, adoption, and utilization of all aspects of the data value chain.

This role will also have significant interaction with local business team members, but also with our partners, suppliers, and various data & technology providers, so she or he must be a strong and results driven individual.

Successful candidate will demonstrate regulated industry domain knowledge in a global setting, willingness to listen, ability to communicate complex technical topics in a simple language to stakeholders of varied technical proficiency, and a bias towards action.

Primary Responsibilities:

The primary responsibility of this position includes but not limited to:

  • Owning and managing HH DnA products through the duration of the product lifecycle for Japan
  • Enabling delivery of product releases, requirements, design, development, market localizations, testing, integration & evolution
  • Providing compliance consultancy regarding the practical application of the Global/Regional Policies and Product compliance controls
  • Gathering insight into user journey, behavior, motivation, and pain points. Exposes unarticulated problems and unmet needs
  • Identifying opportunities for process simplification using automation and collaborate with colleagues to implement across the business
  • Translating commercial requirements into Automation/Digital solutions.
  • Setting and communicating high-integrity roadmap commitments that have been assessed collaboratively with the core delivery team in terms of value, feasibility, usability, and viability
  • Connecting the core delivery agile teams with the market stakeholders and facilitates direct communication between them
  • Documenting business process, business and user needs in the form of problem statements to make up the backlog. Facilitates the “how” with the Engineering team

Position Qualifications:

Education Minimum Requirement: - B.S. or M.S. in IT, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.

Required Experience and Skills**:

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in consultancy and delivery of digital products, with demonstrated expertise in the Data and Analytics space including technical understanding of tools and architecture.
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
  • Experience in managing geographically distributed agile teams and delivery teams
  • Experience aligning on the organizational strategy and communicating complex technical decisions to stakeholders
  • Experience in Requirements Definition and Management including Acceptance Testing
  • Previous experience in regulated industry
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to quickly establish credibility and trust with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders in Japan
  • Proficiency in both written and verbal communication skills in English and Japanese.
  • Ability to maintain a keen attention to detail, multitask and work well under pressure
  • Natural tendency to be curious, positive and creative

Preferred Experience and Skills**:

  • High proficiency in delivering scalable and performant solutions across Data Management, Integrations, Visualization and Advanced Analytics including AI/ML.
  • Experience as a digital product owner implementing and/or following Agile methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Multi-cloud Data solution capabilities, with special emphasis on AWS services.
  • Expertise in User Experience Design
  • Certifications in one or more cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure) is a strong plus.
  • Understanding of Japan Pharmaceutical Sales and Marketing data domains is a strong plus.
