The User Experience Designer is responsible for applying interactive and visual design principles on websites and web applications for a positive and cohesive user experience.

Their task is to transfer the brand’s strengths and visual assets to a product’s interface, making sure the design is consistent, coherent, and aesthetically pleasing. It’s all about creating an intuitive experience that doesn’t require the user to think too much.

They are an expert in user ergonomics and site accessibility and provide a key role in the squad when delivering web solutions.

We will count on you to:

  • Design intuitive, usable and engaging Web and Mobile application interactions and interfaces
  • Gather and evaluate user requirements, in collaboration with product managers and engineers
  • Illustrate design ideas using storyboards, process flows and sitemaps
  • Design reusable graphic user interface elements, like menus, tabs and widgets
  • Conceive, manage and lead project design from start to finish
  • Optimize user journeys and flows based on customer and system feedback
  • Be responsible for driving the timely delivery of projects and software solutions by working with multi-disciplinary teams including Product Managers, Product Owners, Engineers and System Analysts.
  • Conduct usability research (expert reviews, competitive analysis, task analysis, card sorts, user interviews, and usability tests) and put together detailed, structured analysis of issues and potential solutions
  • Work with MMC Technology teams to identify and promote UX best practices
  • Be an active member of the MMC Technology community – contribute, collaborate, and learn
  • Find a balance between working autonomously and within the team to ensure success
  • Have sensible conversations about technical topics through the stack as well as working on technical projects through the entire software delivery lifecycle
  • Provide oversight to ensure requirements are captured and managed, gain consensus from key stakeholders, and ensure they are understood
  • Work closely with your squad to deliver the project in the best way

What you need to have:

  • Ability to work within a fast-paced, team environment
  • Strong prioritizing, problem-solving, presentation, communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to understand both the aesthetic needs and the technical requirements of the digital space and how to adapt from print to digital.
  • Knowledge of UX principles and best practices and how they can be applied to design.
  • The ability to translate high level business requirements into tangible user interface solutions that integrate the latest standards in interaction design and visual design trends
  • Proven experience of working on multiple products as a User Experience designer
  • Strong conceptual ability and attention to detail that translates into compelling customer experiences.
  • The ability to contribute ideas and collaborate with all levels of the team to produce elevated experiences
  • Strong prototyping skills demonstrated through various techniques: sketch, paper, wireframe, video, or interactive prototypes
  • Some experience in data synthesis and evidence-based design.
  • A portfolio demonstrating experience successful UX leadership and high impact creative and emotional design solutions to complex problems.
  • Impeccable sensitivity to user goals, wants and needs, furthermore ability to prioritize against business goals.
  • Knowledge of SDLC processes and practices and experience with some or all of Confluence, JIRA, ADO, Github etc.
  • Fungibility and flexibility to work on a variety of projects and technologies, including those that are new or unfamiliar to you
  • Focus on output, and ability to work under pressure and deadlines
  • Excellent Communication skills both verbal and written

Technical Skills or Qualifications Required:

  • Degree or equivalent in UX Design principles, Bachelor's degree in Design or equivalent practical experience.

  • Practical Expertise in HTML & CSS, modern JavaScript Frameworks (e.g React, Angular) and motion graphics

  • Advanced knowledge of HTML and CSS as well as an understanding of Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and its impact on web design.

  • Command knowledge of Wireframing and Prototyping tools (e.g. FIGMA, OmniGraffle, Axure, Balsamic, Flash, Adobe Creative Suite) and the ability to produce low and high-fidelity solutions.
