Senior Software Engineer

Position Summary...

Demonstrates up-to-date expertise and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans by providing expert advice and guidance to others in the application of information and best practices; supporting and aligning efforts to meet customer and business needs; and building commitment for perspectives and rationales. Provides and supports the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders; identifying business needs; determining and carrying out necessary processes and practices; monitoring progress and results; recognizing and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; and adapting to competing demands, organizational changes, and new responsibilities. Models compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by incorporating these into the development and implementation of business plans; using the Open Door Policy; and demonstrating and assisting others with how to apply these in executing business processes and practices.

What you'll do...

The RiskTech Leveraged Engineering team is a part of Enterprise Business Services (EBS) aimed to smart technology focused on Walmart associates by providing them innovative tools to do their day-day job effectively and give back their productive time. This includes any associate facing application in various domains like Finance Tech, People Tech, Indirect Procurement Solutions,

Being part of the Leveraged Engineering team of RiskTech as a Senior Software Engineer ,the candidate will be responsible for working with different business groups to understand opportunity areas and help by contributing in the space of Full Stack application development, Build intelligent automation solutions Integrating with GenAI and Conversational AI (Chatbots).

With their hard work the candidate will be able to make an impact on business by helping them automate their processes and take strategic decisions.

What you'll do:

• 3 to 6 years of total experience of which 3+ years in Backend engineering platform development.
• Prior background in Robotic Process Automation, understanding of automation concepts
• Familiarity with test automation tools and framework like Selenium and Robot Framework.
• Strong computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, design patterns.
• Hands on experience in Microservices, RESTful webservices development in Java (Spring Boot, Drop wizard or equivalent framework).
• 3+ years of experience in Node Typescript,Java technologies, Distributed systems and large-scale application development and design.
• Hands on experience with distributed systems like Kafka, Cassandra and indexing engines like Solr.
• Hands-on with Java multithreading, concurrency, Data Structures, Algorithms and design patterns.
• Experience with Microservices, containers and their orchestration. Well versed in CI/CD
• Extremely strong technical background with the capability of being hands-on and ability to mentor top individual technical talent.

What you'll bring:

• Hands-on experience in building web applications using Java, spring boot, RESTful Web-Services, Kafka.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with Python
• Experience in developing business process automation using third party of open source languages like Python, .Net
• Experience in building proactive monitoring & alerting solutions
• Experience in systems design and distributed systems.
• Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Exposure to SQL/NoSQL data stores like Cassandra, Elastic, Mongo etc.
• Large scale distributed services experience, including scalability and fault tolerance.
• Exposure to cloud infrastructure, such as Open Stack, Azure, GCP, or AWS
• Exposure to build, CI/CD & deployment pipelines and related technologies like Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins etc.
• Experience in creating user interfaces using appropriate and relevant technologies (e.g., HTML 5 coding, CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) libraries like Bootstrap , etc.) using best practices and appropriate design patterns
• Relevant front end and backend programming experience in relevant languages and frameworks ( e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript , Spring, Node, React, Angular etc)
• Experience integrating with scalable back-end services ( e.g. , REST / graph-QL )
• Experience in functional, integration and E2E (End 2 End) testing tools and practices
• Experience with code repositories and version control practices
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and best practices
• Experience in software quality and operational excellence practices
• Experience in agile development methodology
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills

Additional Qualifications:

• Large scale distributed systems experience, including scalability and fault tolerance.
• Exposure to cloud infrastructure, such as Open Stack, Azure, GCP, or AWS
• A continuous drive to explore, improve, enhance, automate and optimize systems and tools.
• Strong computer science fundamentals in data structures and algorithms
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Good understanding of metadata driven development
• Excellent problem solving, Critical and Analytical thinking skills.
