**Job Description Summary

Outage Engineering team’s responsibility is to plan outage in advance to
reduce outage risk and to satisfy customer needs. Planning activities include
energy equipment engineering assessment of outage time & scope, efficient
communication with regional teams, as well as extra work proposals, which are
outside of regular planned event.

As an Outage Engineer, you will be responsible for fulfilling customer requests
by supporting Service Engineering organization by planning activities for gas
turbines and its auxiliaries, collaborating with different Engineering teams, driving productivity programs to reduce outage cost, support planning tool
improvements and generate Extra Work Opportunity Pipeline for the Business.

Job Description

Outage Engineer role will focus on Gas Turbine (especially HA) and its Auxiliaries Outage Planning within Outage Engineering in ASIA Pole. Candidate will be responsible for leading engineering support of the GT Outage Scope Assessment (OSA) process including engineering recommendations to mitigate MYA fleet outage risks, improve productivity opportunities, identify extra work scopes, and support fleet optimization. This position will also work with various stakeholders across the regional Gas Power business including Pole ITR Services, ASIA Ops, MYA, FieldCore, Parts Engineering, Configuration Management, Application Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Product Service, CSE and Product Line Management.

Also, this person will be working to improve the TX engagement in the region by working closely with Sales Ops team to support customer planning sessions (ITO phase) to help region to improve outage/servcies/parts winning probability. So, knowledge of E and F class will be an added advantage.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Sound knowledge of GE GT technology in HA class to reduce technical risk and identify opportunities to improve reliability and its auxiliaries.
  • Lead outage planning milestone review calls (18m, 12m and 6m) with CPM/CSL/One Field Services (Field core) to layout detailed Engineering recommendations, provide outage scope assessment and Extra Work recommendations to help site to plan outages without any last-minute surprises. Captures the latest findings from the milestone reviews in the technical report.
  • Coordinate and work with cross-functional groups at multiple levels to determine OSA results, plan and strategies including but not limited to: ITR services, MYA Risk, Application Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Regional Outage Engineering, Regional Operations, sales ops & Data Informatics including M&D.
  • Apply all available reliability models and have a mindset to propose new ideas to improve reliability.
  • Provide technical consultation to cross-functional teams throughout the business to improve or resolve product or field issues via both direct consultation and management of processes.
  • Effectively communicate and provide recommendations through the analysis, preparation, and presentation of technical data to internal and external GE customers using reports, records, and letters
  • Work with lean and continous improvement mindset to improve OSA process and application that leads to better customer outcomes, communicate and influence organizations on potential improvements, and lead improvement projects
  • Coordinates technical issue resolution prior, during and after outage execution.
  • Regularly shares ongoing fleet issues/RCAs, CAPAs, TILs, lessons learnt and best practices with team internally and cross functional teams.
  • Train/mentor other team members GT technologies, ongoing issues, lessons learnt and best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field from an accredited college or university Proven engineering experience in turbomachinery, design, or power plant domain on HA’s. (Focus on HA Auxiliaries)
  • Experience working with/in a globally based engineering team
  • Able to travel globally as needed ([%5)

Desired Characteristics

  • Six Sigma Green/Black Belt Certified (GE Employees only)
  • Self-starter able to develop, document, and execute assignments with limited supervision
  • Good working knowledge in H class and experience in working in design and product service will be an added advantage.
  • Experience working in a Power Plant operations and maintenance role with strong working knowledge of Plant equipment
  • Highly effective communicator with experience in presenting and interacting with customers and senior leadership across the business with a thoughtful, persuasive personal style
  • Strong team player. Can energize global teams through inclusiveness and connection with people
